About Us

In 2001, Dan McCool, created Dr. ColorChip Corporation. After working in the automotive detailing and paint touch up industry for several years using various inferior methods to address paint chip repairs on local dealerships' used car inventory, we realised a need for a product that was simple in design, allowing for ease of use by relative novices to the business. With several months of old-fashioned garage chemistry under our belts, we finally devised a product and process that enabled us to produce high-quality paint chip repairs in a fraction of the time it took using the slower, more traditional methods.

After using our new process on thousands of vehicles, we began offering a commercial paint stone repair system to individuals, small businesses and dealerships. Our mission is to provide these partners in the auto touch up paint repair industry a competitive edge with state-of-the-art technology for superior repairs. Our commercial service providers throughout the US dominate their markets using our unique process and high-quality products. Additionally, we cater directly to dealerships that desire to perform these repairs in-house, as well as auto detailers and car care service centres in search of additional profit centres.

In 2006, we began offering a 1-color paint chip repair kit to the general public, allowing owners to perform fast, simple, professional paint touch up repairs on their own cars. Each paint kit is made one at a time per the OEM color formulation. We've also matched paint colors by eye from everything to old microscopes to medical devices to boats and airplanes.

We continually strive to address the needs of the ever-changing automotive paint industry, and are committed to being the number one provider of touch-up paint systems in both the business and retail sectors. We are also consumers ourselves, and realise the need to service our customers in any way we can. We don't like being ripped off or tricked into purchasing a product that doesn't live up to its claims, which is why we provide as much detail and information as possible about our touch up paint kits on our FAQ page.
